STYLE NO. 9013: BECKMAN ROUND
Part of the Beckman collection, the 9013 is a 6-Inch, round toe style boot made from our exclusive Chestnut Featherstone dress leather. Classic in look, a bit of polish keeps them looking sharp.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
The Beckman Collection is named after Charles Beckman, the company's founder. Mr. Beckman owned a shoe store in Red Wing. In his advertising he promoted himself as Beckman, The Shoe Man. As a prosperous Main Street merchant, he saw first-hand the need for durable and comfortable boots. In 1905 when he couldn't find boots to meet his needs, he started his own shoe company. Navigating the muddy streets of Red Wing was part of his daily routine. He needed sturdy boots that could be polished to match his status as a successful Main Street merchant and shoe company owner.

The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.

A last is a form shaped similarly to that of a human foot and is used by shoemakers to determine the size, toe box and heel height for the finished shoe.

SIZING & BREAK IN
In order to build a Red Wing boot to an exact size and width, the boot is constructed around a shoe last.
STYLE NO. 9013: BECKMAN ROUND
A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.
THE 9013 IS BUILT USING THE NO. 8 LAST:
A last is used in shoemaking to give footwear its three-dimensional shape. Resembling the human foot, the last determines critical toe, heel and girth dimensions for fit, style and function.
