ABOUT

STYLE NO. 3143: CLASSIC CHUKKA
Inspired by our rugged work boot heritage, our Work Chukkas are casual in appearance, but ruggedly handsome. They employ Red Wing's signature white crepe sole, premium Sand Mohave leather and Goodyear welt construction. The result is a lightweight and comfortable casual boot that is uniquely Red Wing. They're the perfect shoe for looking busy while not doing anything.
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
Unlike other Red Wing boots, the chukka was designed for lighter, indoor work that includes bending, climbing and kneeling. Their crepe outsoles allowed these indoor workers to stay comfortable, while not scratching floors or making a mess.
MATERIALS
Roughout leather is a reverse suede leather made in our S.B. Foot tannery.
ROUGHOUT LEATHER
Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at our very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, we simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, we avoid splitting or thinning our full-grain hides. This makes our Roughout leather just as strong and durable as our other leathers.

SIZING & BREAK IN
In order to build a Red Wing boot to an exact size and width, the boot is constructed around a shoe last.
STYLE NO. 3143: CLASSIC CHUKKA
A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.
THE 3143 IS BUILT USING THE NO. 210 LAST:
A last is used in shoemaking to give footwear its three-dimensional shape. Resembling the human foot, the last determines critical toe, heel and girth dimensions for fit, style and function.
  • Was designed for increased flexibility and lighter duty work
  • Fits true to size
  • Should be sized up ½ if used with a footbed or orthotic
